11 medals!
I attended the UCI (International Cycling Union) Velodrome/Track World Championships for Paracycling in Manchester England with Team USA. I had the task of lead Soigneur.
A Soigneur is essentially a body mechanic. They are the people who help and assist with athlete event readiness and recovery. It is a very busy job. The world championships were held at the Manchester Velodrome which is one of the world’s most prestigious indoor velodrome. Good thing it is indoor as there is plenty of rain in Manchester. Rain cancels outdoor velodrome racing.
The team did very well! They exceeded expectations with truly great rides, including personal bests for most everyone. Our efforts netted several world championships and one world record. Links to this event can be found on http://www.uci.ch/.
